NELSON BOSTOCK SCOOPS DOUBLE AWARD FROM PRCA
20 November, 2007
Nelson Bostock was a two-times winner at last night's prestigious PRCA & Frontline awards, scooping both the Consumer and People Development trophies.
More than 250 people packed out KOKO in London to witness the ceremony, which celebrates best practice across the PR consultancy sector. 44 entries were shortlisted for the 12 awards, with Nelson Bostock being only one of two consultancies to be recognised as top dog in more than one category.
The agency won the Consumer Award for work conducted on behalf of client, The London Dungeon. ‘An Extremis Success’ showcased Nelson Bostock’s campaign to promote the new Extremis attraction at the Dungeon, one of London’s hottest tourist experiences. The campaign encompassed a three-month programme of creative news generation, celebrity endorsement and ‘time out’ features – highlighting Extremis as one of THE attractions to visit in London during Spring and Summer 2007.
Nelson Bostock’s second success was in the People Development category. During 2007, the agency overhauled its HR and training programmes, creating and implementing a new 360® staff appraisal process and establishing the NBC Academy, a suite of in-house and externally-run training courses designed to help develop the career of consultants at all levels.
“We’re extremely proud to have picked up two trophies at this year’s PRCA Awards,” said Lee Nugent, Nelson Bostock’s managing director. “It’s always pleasing to have the agency’s efforts recognised by our peers – and the London Dungeon team have done a marvellous job.
“It’s also especially delightful to have been selected for the People Development award. It may be a cliché to say that our people are our best asset, but it remains as true as ever. In today’s competitive environment, successful recruitment and retention is one of the keys to continued growth. Investing in people is crucial and we’re proud of the work we’ve done so far.”
