NBC NAMED A TOP 100 SMALL COMPANY BY THE SUNDAY TIMES
3 March, 2008
Nelson Bostock has been recognised by The Sunday Times as one of the UK’s Best Small Companies to Work For.
The agency ranked 33rd in the newspaper’s fifth annual survey of UK firms with fewer than 250 employees, a report seen by many as the definitive guide to workplace excellence among small businesses.
Nelson Bostock employees scored the agency particularly highly in Personal Growth (“to what extent staff feel they are stretched and challenged by their job”), where the firm was ranked 20th in the Top 100 – and in the Belonging category (“feelings about the company people work for”), where a rank of 21st was achieved.
Employee confidence in the leadership skills of the senior management team also achieved a high (top 10) rating of 90%. People feel a strong sense of family at work (84%), say colleagues are fun (88%) and that teams really care for each other, with a positive score of 93%, ranking Nelson Bostock sixth.
“It’s fantastic to be recognised as one of the nation’s best small businesses to work for, and the achievement is down to the hard work and commitment of the staff we have at Nelson Bostock,” says Lee Nugent, managing director.
“They work hard for their clients and for the agency, but they also contribute so much more than their professional talent to the company. Our people make sure we are a fun, vibrant and progressive place to work – and they are integral to not only our successes to date, but also to our plans for the future. Engaged, happy and challenged staff translates into great work for our clients – and that’s what we always strive to achieve.”
This latest recognition of Nelson Bostock’s best employer status comes hot on the heels of the agency’s 2-star ‘Outstanding Employer’ accreditation awarded by workplace engagement specialists, Best Companies – as well the PRCA (Public Relations Consultants Association) Award for People Development, which was presented towards the end of 2007.
